Users would act as 'energy traders' aiming to buy low and sell high, similar to the spice traders of Arrakis or the Rebel Alliance managing vital resources. The project would scrape real-time and historical data from public renewable energy grids and pricing APIs (akin to scraping podcast metadata for insights). The system would then identify and present arbitrage opportunities, highlighting potential profit margins based on predicted price shifts and grid demand. Implementation could start with a simple web scraper for publicly available data, a basic data analysis engine (e.g., Python with Pandas), and a user interface displaying potential trades and profit forecasts. The niche lies in focusing on the unique dynamics of renewable energy pricing and the speculative aspect of energy trading, appealing to individuals interested in both sustainability and financial markets. Low cost is achieved through open-source tools and public data.
