The Oracle of Obsessions

A niche chatbot that delves into the psychology of fictional characters' obsessions, inspired by 'I, Robot' and 'The Prestige', using scraped blog content for analysis.

Inspired by the intricate motivations of characters in 'I, Robot' and the deceptive nature of obsessions in 'The Prestige,' this project creates a specialized chatbot designed to explore and articulate the deep-seated obsessions of fictional characters. The chatbot will leverage a curated dataset of blog posts and fan analyses specifically discussing the psychological drives of characters from popular literature and film (e.g., those by Asimov, Nolan, and similar authors/directors). The core functionality will involve users posing questions about a character's obsession (e.g., 'Why was Dr. Susan Calvin so fixated on the Three Laws?', 'What drove Robert Angier's relentless pursuit of the Transported Man trick?'). The chatbot, powered by natural language processing and a knowledge base derived from scraped content, will then provide insightful, nuanced, and psychologically-informed explanations. The 'low-cost' aspect comes from utilizing readily available chatbot frameworks and public blog data. The 'niche' focus on fictional character psychology offers high earning potential through premium subscriptions for in-depth character analysis, character archetype databases, or even personalized 'obsession readings' for aspiring writers or role-players. The 'easy to implement' aspect is achieved by focusing on a specific domain of analysis rather than a general-purpose chatbot, allowing for a more contained and manageable dataset and NLP model.
