JobScout: Orbital Candidate Network

JobScout leverages AI to predict future high-demand skills in remote, interstellar-adjacent roles and proactively connects promising candidates with employers through a gamified omnichannel experience.

Inspired by Neuromancer's digital frontier and Interstellar's search for viable futures, JobScout tackles the problem of skills gap in emerging technology fields. The project begins by scraping job boards (initially focused on AI/ML, Quantum Computing, Space Tech, and synthetic biology) for job postings and candidate profiles, mirroring the 'Job Listings' scraper project. The AI then analyzes the skills requested in these postings, identifying emerging trends and future-proof skillsets. Next, the system builds 'candidate profiles' by scraping publicly available data (LinkedIn, GitHub, Stack Overflow, etc.), focusing on relevant skills and experience. Taking a page from Neuromancer, JobScout envisions these profiles as 'digital personas' that can be enhanced and customized. Crucially, the system doesn't directly present raw data. Instead, it creates a gamified 'orbital' network, visualizing candidates as planets within a solar system aligned with different industries. Employers 'launch' job offers as probes, which target planets (candidate profiles) matching specific skill requirements. Candidates can then choose to accept or reject these probes, earning points and advancing their 'orbital' ranking. This omnichannel engagement incorporates a personalized email strategy (probes, updates, milestones), web portal (interactive orbital map, profile management), and Discord server (community, skills-sharing, Q&A with industry experts). The monetization strategy is twofold: (1) employers pay for 'probe launches' based on targeting granularity and reach, offering premium features like priority placement, enhanced analytics, and sponsored skill challenges, and (2) candidates earn cryptocurrency rewards for completing skill-based quests and referrals, creating a self-sustaining ecosystem that fosters continuous learning and talent acquisition in rapidly evolving fields. The low-cost aspect comes from leveraging existing open-source libraries for scraping and AI, alongside scalable cloud infrastructure for hosting the gamified platform.
